CITY CLOUDS

I was inspired to create the city clouds pastel on paper series when on a sparkling late summer day, standing at an intersection in Manhattan, gazing down the street my eyes went above the buildings and noticed – seemingly for the first time- the most extraordinary cloud formations on the bright blue sky. The beauty of this contrast was so exhilarating to me that it became my obsession. Suddenly the man-made density of the city became secondary to the ethereal and majestic beauty of the sky that surrounds it
